A two-vehicle collision occurred on Florin Perkins Road in South Sacramento on Friday afternoon, February 7, 2025. Emergency response teams were dispatched to the scene shortly after 4:00 p.m. at a location south of Elder Creek Road, as reported by Sacramento fire dispatch radio communications.

 

While details regarding injuries remain unclear, emergency medical personnel were called to the accident site, suggesting possible injuries to vehicle occupants. Authorities have not yet released information about the cause of the collision or the identities of those involved.

 

This incident highlights ongoing traffic safety concerns in South Sacramento, particularly along busy corridors like Florin Perkins Road that connect commercial and residential areas. A tragic head-on collision between a gravel truck and a sedan resulted in one fatality in Sacramento on Thursday morning, April 24, 2025. According to the California Highway Patrol, the devastating crash occurred around 5:56 a.m. near the intersection of Elder Creek Road and South Watt Avenue in southeastern Sacramento. 

 

Sacramento Metro Fire Department responders arrived promptly at the scene where they discovered an individual trapped within one of the vehicles following the high-impact collision. Emergency personnel conducted an extraction operation and transported the critically injured victim to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care.

 

Despite the medical team’s best efforts, authorities confirmed that the victim succumbed to their injuries at the hospital later that day. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of family members.

 

To facilitate investigation and cleanup operations, CHP officials closed South Watt Avenue from Elder Creek Road to Florin Road immediately following the incident. Traffic was diverted to alternate routes throughout the morning commute, causing significant delays in the area.
